Raise the hood. It’s not that difficult, really.
The block can handle 800HP. How one drives such an engine will be the biggest factor in determining how well it will hold up. Nothing lasts forever, but these L blocks and crankshafts come close.

Of course you’d upgrade the fuel rail. If someone has 800HP that should go without even saying.
Z cars proved themselves on the race track long before they became popular GT cars on the street.

Next is the Fuel Rail For 800 Horsepower on most engines the Fuel rail would never hold. so the entire fuel rail would need to be scrapped and completely custom built with heavy duty injectors. These L28’s were never Designed to be supercar engines. They were only meant to be strong reliable motor cross rally cars as well as cheap stylish well handling sports cars that the average joe could afford.

A single Larger turbo requires yet larger piping you are still going to run into clearance issues with the steering shaft. Te biggest problems with an 800hp L28 buildup are going to be block flex and fuel management. No way in hell is a stock block going to hold up to 800 HP we are talking solid chromium cylinder sleeves at the least with completely forged internals.

L28s can exceed 800HP, citing Tom Monroe. Regarding steering columns being in the way of the piping, that’s yet another reason why a large single turbo is better than needless redundancies in a twin.

nice remix

since it’s a early car on the game, i’d say around 198 or 215mph with all the performance parts on max

This was a comment directed towards a dumbass who claimed he had a real, 800 horsepower 280z with an L28 engine, not towards the Video game
January 31st, 2010 at 4:20 PM
Its a Video game….

BULL SHIT! At 800 Horsepower the L28 block would flex and crack Resulting in Catastrophic engine failure. SEVERAL Reasons I know you are Lying .
In order to possibly get anywhere near close to 800bhp you would AT LEAST need a twin turbo Kit. IMPOSSIBLE on a 280z because the steering shaft Is right in the way of were you would need to place the turbos exhaust manifold and the turbo’s themselves The 280z was only released in America so there is NO right hand drive version of it anywhere

I agree with him the only thing I wish they did was put a newer one in like a 1980-1983 280zx. The Z car is one of the most collectible cars on the road spanning over 7 different body stiles and having a few collectible Zs the 10th anniversary Black gold and red and black 280zx the Racing 280zx the 50th anniversary 300zx and last is the 40th anniversary 370z
